Study, test, then sit the mock

Read a chapter, answer its fifteen questions one at a time, review your results, and finish each module with its timed mock exam.

Seven modules, one for every exam area

The four largest areas carry roughly 70 to 85% of the exam and have the most chapters. The three smaller areas still matter, because an adaptive exam keeps probing wherever you are weak.

The full programme

All seven modules: 86 chapters, 1,290 revision questions and seven mock exams with 550 questions in total.

What you get in every module

A study book you can read

Each chapter explains the reasons, not just the facts. It opens with the big picture, uses tables and figures where they help, and ends with the mistakes candidates make most often.

Fifteen questions per chapter

Answer one at a time, then see your results with the correct answer for every question and, in most modules, a one-line explanation.

A timed mock exam

Between 50 and 90 questions per module, with an optional timer, your score and clear guidance on what to do next.

Reference tables

Reference ranges, formula sheets and quick-reference tables for the facts you need to have at your fingertips.

Figures and micrographs

Over 240 figures, including photomicrograph plates in Hematology and diagrams in Microbiology, Urinalysis and Laboratory Operations.

Slides for Clinical Chemistry

Twelve slide decks, 378 slides in all, each ending with revision-question slides and an answers slide.

About the exam

The MLS(ASCPi) is a computer-adaptive test. A correct answer leads to a slightly harder question and a wrong answer to a slightly easier one, so the exam adjusts to you.

The programme teaches both unit systems, and it teaches regulatory topics from U.S. sources such as CLIA, FDA and AABB, because that is how the exam asks about them.

Questions candidates ask

Which exam is this for?

The MLS(ASCPi) examination. The ASCP Board of Certification publishes one content guideline for both MLS(ASCP) and MLS(ASCPi), and the programme follows its seven content areas.

Can I buy just one module?

Yes. Each exam area is available on its own, or you can take the full programme with all seven.

How are the modules organised?

By exam area. Blood Banking, Clinical Chemistry, Hematology and Microbiology are the four largest areas, and Urinalysis and Body Fluids, Immunology and Laboratory Operations are the three smaller ones.

How do the practice questions work?

You answer one question at a time. When you finish, you see your score and the correct answer for every question, with a one-line explanation in most modules. Each module also ends with a timed mock exam.

Does it cover U.S. regulations and both unit systems?

Yes. Regulatory content is taught from U.S. sources, and results and reference ranges are taught in both conventional and SI units.
